I have been working as an Occupational Therapist and Psychotherapist for twenty years. I am dually registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario and the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. My clinical practice primarily focuses on providing hope and support to individuals with severe and enduring eating disorders who have experienced complex/developmental trauma. I am also passionate about providing psychotherapy to individuals who have experienced grief and trauma related to infertility, pregnancy loss, or perinatal death. I practice from a holistic, eclectic approach and have extensive training and experience in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems, Compassion-Focused Therapy, Mindful Self-Compassion, Feminist Psychotherapy, Somatic Experiencing, and other trauma-informed body-based approaches. My clinical approach is person-centred, trauma-informed, and compassion-focused.
I graduated from York University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy at the University of Toronto and pursued graduate studies by completing a Master of Science in Post-Professsional Occupational Therapy through Dalhousie University. While practicing as an OT, I continued to engage in further psychotherapy training through the Gestalt Institute of Toronto and the Toronto Art Therapy Institute.
Outside of work, I cherish spending time being the permanent parent to three beautiful, amazing humans who have come into my life through the foster care system.
Areas of practice: Adults/Adolescents, eating disorders, developmental trauma, grief, pregnancy & perinatal loss, infertility.
