I am a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). I hold a master’s degree in social work and a BA in psychology. I have many years of experience working in mental health with individuals and families struggling with anxiety, mood disorders, family transitions, psychosocial wellbeing, and chronic stress. I provide a safe place where individuals can work to find balance and a sense of well being in their lives, and learn skills to overcome their struggles. I am an experienced and compassionate clinician and work from a client-centred approach. I am trained to use strategies from cognitive behaviour therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, narrative therapy and family systems interventions.
I have an empathic and genuine ability to connect with clients. I offer the lived experience for those struggling to navigate the mental health system in supporting their families. I have held the role of Chapter Leader in Parents For Children’s Mental Health as a family support group facilitator since 2013. I am fluent in Spanish and have developed a multicultural sensitivity.
Outside of my professional life, I enjoy volunteering my time in many mental health initiatives and areas of health and wellness. Maintaining a balance of healthy mind and body is important to me, so I devote time in nature with cycling.
Areas of Practice: Adults/Adolescents, depression, anxiety, self esteem, family issues, chronic stress and burnout, family support, multicultural issues. Fluent in Spanish.
